This is a test of the internet's ability to find real things, working on the six degrees of separation principle.
I want to buy a painting, or a photograph of a painting. It's a very specific painting, which is why I need the internet's help.
I saw the painting in a shop window on St. Andrews Street in St. Ives in August 1999, while visiting for the eclipse. I should have bought it then, but I didn't. I've never forgotten it. It's a painting of two men who appear to be either dancing or fighting, it's hard to tell.
An EXTREMELY poor pen sketch of the painting can be seen here:
http://picasaweb.google.com/112077058888259758090/SixDegreesCanWeFindThisPainting#5453662808024908434It was in oils, in shades of blue and green. I really liked it and now wish I'd bought it. Somebody else must have bought it. I'm trying to find out who.
If you're reading this, and know who has it, please ask them to get in touch.
If you're reading this, and don't know who has it - PLEASE, pass this on to the person you know who you think is most likely to know EITHER who painted it or who bought it. Please ask them to do likewise if they do not know. In theory at least, if enough people do this enough times (and it shouldn't take too many people or too many links), the person who painted or now owns this painting will get in touch with me.
Please help me find this thing. It's been driving me nuts for over ten years.
Thank you anyone who helps.
